Outpatient Care Center and Research Facility

The Medical and Research Translation (MART) building is a place where cancer research and treatment come together. It’s designed to help doctors and researchers work side by side to discover and create new ways to treat and cure cancer.

This eight-story building, covering 240,000 square feet, is located on Stony Brook University’s East Campus, right next to Stony Brook University Hospital.

At the MART, cancer specialists work as part of 13 dedicated teams, each focusing on different types of cancer. They create treatment plans tailored to each patient, ensuring care is personalized and respectful of individual needs. Oncology nurse navigators and other experts guide patients every step of the way.

The MART also focuses on making patients and their families feel comfortable. It offers private treatment rooms, cozy seating areas, a fireplace, a resource center  and a large wellness space. This space is used for yoga, support groups and educational programs to support overall well-being.
