Welcome to Stony Brook Cancer Center. We are the nurse practitioners who will help you navigate your child’s care during his or her journey with us. Our names are Debra Giugliano, RN, CPNP, CPON; Jeanne Greenfield, RN, CPNP, CPON; and Rosemary Mahan, RN, CPNP, CPON. As nurse navigators for the team who works with children with cancer, we are your central point of contact. We will help coordinate all aspects involved in your child’s care. This may include questions, details and appointments concerning surgical, medical and radiation services. There are additional healthcare professionals on the team who will assist you and your family. We can help arrange appointments with social workers and nutritionists, if needed. We can refer you to our staff that assists with financial and insurance matters. We will introduce you to our child life specialists, who play a very important role in your child’s time with us. We have many wonderful support services in place to help your child and the family through the different stages of treatment and survivorship. For additional support, we have close ties with local organizations, which are right in your community. We will be with you every step of the way. Dr. Parker is a pediatrician with a specialty in hematology (blood diseases) and oncology (cancer), and also the Director of the Department of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Department at Stony Brook Medicine.
