Early Detection Can Save Lives
When lung cancer is found in its earliest stage, survival rates are markedly improved and as high as 90 percent.
The Lung Cancer Screening and Prevention Program offers an annual low-dose computed tomography (CT) scan for individuals at high risk. In addition to the CT scan, a comprehensive examination and all required imaging services are offered to those who qualify. Each case is reviewed by our nationally recognized team of lung cancer specialists. Stony Brook’s Lung Cancer Screening Program is consistent with the recommendations determined by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force.
If treatment is needed, you are in the right place. As part of Stony Brook Cancer Center, the physicians and healthcare staff in the Lung Cancer and Chest Disease Program are experts in evaluating, diagnosing and creating a treatment plan according to an individual's needs.
