Mobile Mammography Unit

Our Mobile Mammography team is on a mission: to make sure every woman on Long Island, age 40 and older, who needs a mammogram has easy and convenient access, regardless of insurance status. No prescription is needed.

All year long, our fully outfitted Mobile Mammography Unit travels throughout Suffolk and Nassau counties to key locations. The unit is spacious and features a registration area, a comfortable waiting room, private changing and exam spaces, and state-of-the-art 3D equipment.

Please be assured that your experience on the Mobile Mammography Unit is the same as if you were having your appointment at one of our imaging sites in a building. Stony Brook Medicine staff are with you during your appointment and the equipment is also the same high standard as found at our various locations. The scans are read by radiologists from Stony Brook Medicine.
