Research Interest

The primary goal of our research is to understand how epigenetic factors regulate gene expression and cellular activities during normal development, and how their dysregulation leads to diseases, particularly cancer. We combine structural biology, biochemistry and various biophysical techniques, with a special focus on cryo-electron microscopy, to uncover the intricate molecular interactions that govern these processes. We aim to uncover the intricate molecular interactions governing these processes. The insights gained will be invaluable for developing new cancer therapies.

Our current research is focused on two key areas:

  1. Investigating the role of histone variants in transcription and DNA damage repair.

  2. Elucidating the mechanisms by which ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling enzymes regulate DNA repair and contribute to cancer development.
