Managing Your Pain

Pain management is a way to recognize and treat discomfort associated with a diagnosis, disease or treatment and is an important part of your cancer care. Your physician and care team will work closely with you to achieve a desirable level of comfort. Pain is a personal experience that can be different for everyone.

How you report and describe pain helps your care team know what may work best to relieve it. Your care team can determine what type of pain you are having and what treatment options are best. We encourage you to speak with your care team about your pain that may be caused by cancer or cancer treatment, and what types of medications and treatments might help.
