Research Interest
We wish to understand how the DNA damage response and repair system preserves genome stability and how its dysregulation affects tumor development and responses to genotoxic anti-cancer therapy. We believe that elucidating the basic mechanisms through which organisms sense and repair damaged DNA will ultimately help us design novel therapeutics to treat cancer and strategies to overcome drug resistance. In particular, we focus on
1. Exploring signaling of the DNA replication stress response and replication-associated DNA repair
2. Elucidating cross-talks between DNA repair and cellular signaling regulated by oncogenes and tumor suppressors
3. Developing anti-cancer therapeutics by exploiting DNA replication vulnerability of cancer cells
