    An abnormal passageway (a sinus tract) that develops between the large airways in the lungs (the bronchi) and the space between the membranes that line the lungs (the pleural cavity).

    A large group of diseases that cause scarring, or fibrosis, of the lungs

    Growths that form in the area of the chest that separates the lungs
  • Pleural effusion
    A build-up of excess fluid between the layers of the pleura outside the lungs
  • Thymomas
    A tumor (benign or malignant) originating from the epithelial cells of the thymus (a lymphoid organ in the neck that produces T cells for the immune system) 

  • Tracheal stenosis
    A narrowing of the trachea, or windpipe, due to scar tissue formation or malformation of the cartilage in the trachea
  • Tracheobronchial malacia

    When the walls of the airway (specifically the trachea and bronchi) are weakened that can cause the airway to become narrow or collapse
  • Tracheoesophageal fistulas
    An abnormal connection between the esophagus and trachea (windpipe)
