Lung Cancer Retreat 2020

The focus of the retreat is on lung cancer research at Stony Brook Cancer Center and opportunities for collaboration. Presentations will span research activities across the disease continuum and include basic, translational, clinical and population science.
Topics include: chemoprevention, biomarkers, drug resistance, early detection and clinical pathways to improve patient outcomes.
This year, the retreat will have a special emphasis on the disproportionate burden of lung cancer in certain patient groups.
We are excited to host Dr. Patricia Rivera as our keynote speaker to present,
“Addressing Disparities in Lung Cancer Screening.”

Dr. Patricia Rivera is a Professor of Medicine at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill. Dr. Rivera founded the Multidisciplinary Lung Cancer Screening Program at UNC and as part of her NIH/NCI funded research, co-developed the North Carolina (NC) Lung Screening Registry. The registry is a statewide initiative to examine the delivery, quality and outcomes of lung cancer screening and evaluate the extent to which disparities in lung cancer screening outcomes exist. |
