As part of this year’s program, a poster session will follow the lunch from 1:00PM to 2:00PM. Presenters should submit their abstracts by March 31, 2026 to sbccabstract@stonybrookmedicine.edu. Please specify on the subject line: Poster for Snyder Symposium.
Open to all Cancer Topics.
Six abstracts submitted by students (undergraduate and graduate) and six abstracts submitted by postdoctoral fellows/research associates/research assistants/clinical fellows will be selected by April 7, 2026 for short presentations taking place at the Symposium during the poster session. The presentations will be of maximum 5 minutes by their posters to a panel of judges who will select 2 best poster presentations for each of the two categories students or postdoctoral fellows/research associates/research assistants/clinical fellows (each winner will receive $500.00 towards attendance to scientific meetings or professional memberships).
If you do not wish your abstract to be considered for an oral presentation, please indicate so in the email once submitting the abstract.
Posters should be standard size: 36” x 48” (3’ x 4’).
Instruction for submitting an Abstract:
Abstracts must be submitted as a word file (one page), formatted using Arial 12, single line spaced, leaving 1 inch margin on all sides. Abstracts should include:
- Title
- authors (with the presenting author underlined)
- affiliation(s) of presenting author
- position of presenting author (undergraduate student, graduate student, postdoctoral fellow, research assistant, research associate or clinical fellow)
- no specific requirements for the body of the abstract
- one figure can be included (optional; if including a figure, it should fit in the one-page limit)
- maximum of 3 references can be cited (optional; if including references, they should fit in the one-page limit)
- Funding sources, if available (if including funding sources, they should fit in the one-page limit)
I understand that photograph, video recording, audio recording or other electronic or digital method of recording my likeness taken of me by the State University of New York at Stony Brook and/or Stony Brook University Hospital (hereinafter the “University”), its employee or agents may be used by the University for advertisement, publicity or information distribution.
I hereby irrevocably authorize the University to copy, publish, exhibit or distribute in any legal manner, anyone all images, videos, audio recordings and electronic or digital advertisement, publication or information piece in which my likeness appears. I agree that the University is the exclusive owner of all copyright and other rights in such photographs, videotapes in any manner and in any media now known or hereafter discovered or developed.
I hold the University harmless and release and discharge the University, its employees and agents from any claims, demands or causes of action which I , my heirs, representatives, executors, administrators or other persons acting on my behalf or on behalf of my estate have or may have by reason of this authorization.
