2017 Breast Cancer Research Retreat

Fourth Annual Breast Cancer Research Retreat

Welcome to the 2017 Stony Brook Cancer Center Breast Cancer Research Retreat.  This year’s retreat will highlight the accomplishments of past and current recipients of the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Awards in talks and posters.

We are excited to have Peter Kabos, MD, from the Department of Medicine, Division of Medical Oncology, University of Colorado Denver, Aurora, Colorado as our plenary speaker. Dr. Kabos is an active breast cancer clinical trialist with interests on the role of breast cancer stem cells and tumor microenvironment in treatment resistance. He will speak on the role of tumor associated fibroblast subtypes in breast cancer behavior.

To round out the program, we will hear from our clinical researchers on opportunities and gaps in breast cancer screening, treatment and survivorship. We encourage faculty, students and postdoctoral fellow participation, including presentation at our poster session. We look forward to an exciting afternoon, where we’ll share information about the diverse and exciting portfolio of breast cancer research that is ongoing at Stony Brook Cancer Center.
