Physicians from Stony Brook Cancer Center take part in a compelling conversation about the latest diagnostic and treatment options for prostate cancer. Michael Hung, MD, a urologic oncologist, is the moderator for this conversation about prostate cancer. He is joined by his colleagues on the Genitourinary Oncology team, medical oncologist Judy Huang, DO, and radiation oncologist Joanne (Jieying) Wu, MD.
According to the American Cancer Society, it is estimated that one in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime, making it one of the most common cancers in men. Despite its prevalence, prostate cancer is often slow to progress, which makes screening and early detection key for effective treatment.
The Cancer Center takes a team approach to care with the patient as the focus. The multiple specilists who are experts in prostate cancer management guide the patient through screening, diagnosis, treatment, clinical trials, survivorship and support services. Our team is here to answer questions or assist in any way we can.
