Dear Colleagues and Friends,
On behalf of the Organizing Committees, the Stony Brook Cancer Center, and Stony Brook University, it is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 12th Conference on Metal Toxicity and Carcinogenesis (CMTC 2025).
We are delighted to host this year’s conference in the beautiful and historic Village of Port Jefferson, Long Island, New York, during the spectacular autumn season. Settled in the 17th century and once a bustling shipbuilding center, Port Jefferson has evolved into a charming seaside destination. We hope you will find the conference not only scientifically stimulating but also personally enjoyable as you experience the village’s unique history, scenery, and hospitality.
This NIH-sponsored interdisciplinary conference brings together a vibrant community of scientists dedicated to understanding metal toxicity and carcinogenicity. Our collective goal is to share new discoveries, explore mechanistic insights, develop strategies for prevention and intervention, and foster translation from basic science to clinical and public health applications.
A defining strength of this conference series is its tradition of bringing together investigators across all career stages and disciplines-from trainees to senior leaders in the field. The opportunity to exchange ideas across generations and perspectives is what makes CMTC the premier meeting in metal toxicity and carcinogenesis research.
To balance our intense scientific program, we invite you to relax and enjoy the special gala dinner and awards ceremony, as well as the many restaurants, shops, and scenic harbor views that are all within walking distance of the conference venue.
We look forward to welcoming you this October for an inspiring and memorable meeting filled with collaboration, discovery, and friendship.
Warm regards,
The CMTC 2025 Co-Chairs Ke Jian "Jim" Liu (Stony Brook University)
Max Costa (New York University)
